Wycliffe Associates eOpportunities Cameroon Opportunity

Yaoundé, Cameroon is a strategic center for Bible translation in central Africa. It is also the location for two key construction projects this fall.

The first project is to expand an aircraft hangar so that it can accommodate a larger airplane needed for ongoing support of Bible translation teams in remote areas. In recent days, the design work for this expansion has been completed. Now we need a team of volunteers to translate this vision into action. We need welders, electricians, and general handymen (and women!).

At the same time, work is continuing on the new campus for Rain Forest International School. This is a long-term project supported by Wycliffe Associates through design, construction, and funding. Several buildings are in the beginning phase of construction. These are basic concrete block and steel truss construction. We need block layers, plumbers, electricians, concrete finishers, and handy helpers. We also need heavy equipment operators for some of the continuing excavation work.

These teams will both be led by our Wycliffe Associates construction superintendent in Yaoundé, Paul Dubois. Accommodations will be at our recently completed Volunteer Center. The schedule for these teams is from November 14-December 5, 2008.

If you, or someone you know, would be interested in learning more about this important service opportunity just reply to this email or call us toll-free at 1-800-THE WORD (1-800-843-9673).

We'd love to have you join us in Cameroon for a Thanksgiving celebration you'll never forget!

Blessings,
