My Dear Home Team,
I cannot believe that its almost August already
.but
time does fly when you are totally focused on a task and
that is exactly what I was for the last month and a half.
We were preparing for God to show up at our camp and did
He ever!!! I have enclosed some camper comments with this
letter.
Our theme this year is Get Focused from Phil.
3:13-14 which is really a really good one for athletes
and for us as we were preparing for camp and at camp.
As usual Satan tried to discourage us with all kinds of
obstacles like
a Huddle Leader dropping
out on Fri. BUT within minutes God had provided another
one
we couldnt use the auditorium at Central
College because of a light problem BUT another facility
was provided which was adequate,
we found out last
minute that a gym we thought was available to us on Wed.
morning wasnt BUT we were able to overcome that
you
get the picture J!
Many lives were impacted for Jesus Christ and we pray
that decisions were not made on an emotional basis but
rather on a true understanding of who God is and why we
should live our lives for HIM. Please pray to that end.
We also have our Golf event and Power Camp for grades
2-6 next week. Personally, I have my Leadership Team Retreat
and my first ever family reunion. And then its about
time for school to start
.PHEW!!!
Please pray that God would continue to use this ministry
to bring people to faith in HIS Son and to compete and
coach to bring glory and honor to HIM.
Thank you so much for your continued support, prayers,
and encouragement.
In HIS joyful service, Jan Werling
Camper comments:
Ive realized the importance of Christian
friendships and my responsibility as one who loves Christ
to share Him
especially with my teammates.
I have been reminded how much I want to stay pure.
I have definitely grown in my relationship with
God. Ive been challenged to pray a lot more and
spend more time in the Word.
I have accepted Christ in my life and it has helped
me realize what I need to do to help myself and let God
take control and fix me!
I learned how to glorify God while playing sports.
It made me realize I am on a path to making bad
decisions and brought me back to God.
I have grown spiritually like no other camp has
ever done. I have also grown athletically through this
camp.
