Dear family and friends,
It's been awhile since we wrote, but in our last email we
mentioned that we needed to find someone to live in our
house here while we are in the States for our six month
furlough. We want to thank you for any time that you asked
the Lord to meet that need -- He has answered in a wonderful
way!
A couple who will be studying Portuguese here in Vianopolis
from January until May will be staying in our house. We
will be able to leave out our furniture, appliances, and
even kitchen items for them to use since they won't be bringing
those things with them. They've offered to let us use one
of the three bedrooms to store some of our personal belongings
instead of taking everything up to the attic -- wow! It
will make our packing up so much simpler and will also be
a blessing to them. How we thank the Lord for arranging
this situation for our family and for them.
Thank you, also, for praying for Paul and the heavy load
at aviation. He is feeling like it is a bit more manageable
lately and that he'll be ready to leave in December with
several things checked off his list.
Some of you may remember us writing about Gujo, an Indian
girl who received Christ as her Savior two years ago and
has been studying at a Bible school. Last month we got news
that her brother, Marcelo, had disappeared. He had left
the village in a boat to meet some people, and the next
day the boat arrived without him. At first it was assumed
that he had drowned, however, when they didn't find his
body but instead were seeing human tracks in the area, they
then began to consider some other scenario. As of yet, we
don't know if Marcelo has returned to the village or what
has transpired. Keith and Heidi, translators who work with
this group, are currently in the village. They will be returning
here to Vianopolis next week, so we hope to hear that Marcelo
is alive and back with his family. Though this time has
been terribly difficult for Gujo and her family, she was
able to read Scripture and pray with them. Some family members
showed much more interest than ever before. We are praying
that the Lord will open their hearts and minds to the good
news of salvation through faith in Christ.
We'd appreciate prayer for our furlough planning as well.
We leave here on December 11, so we're in the stage of making
lists for this and that but not seeing as much progress
as we'd like in actually accomplishing what is on our lists!
We plan to be in the States from December to May, spending
most of that time in Iowa. We hope to see many of you, so
if there are specific dates that work best for you, please
contact us and we'll try our best to arrange a visit. We
will be mailing out a "snail mail" letter to everyone
in the next couple of weeks, so you can be looking for that
to arrive.
Much love,
Angie for us all

worthy of our trust.
Love in Him,
Angie, for us all
