Dear friends,
Last night was an emotional night for the CU Navs. It was our last Nav Night of the year, which is a time we spend honoring all the graduating seniors who have been with us throughout college. We are finding that with each year we are at CU it only gets harder to say goodbye to these students. Dane and Aimee shared a challenge to the students on how to live well in college, and each senior pictured in the attachment shared Christ changd their lives during their time with The Navigators in college. Would you continue to pray for these students to continue to pursue Christ deeply and make Kingdom impacts wherever they go?!
Here are details of each senior from left to right:
Cynthia: Stacy discipled Cynthia for the past four years, and next year Cynthia will be joining our staff team and serving with us here at CU Boulder.
Karl: Drew discipled Karl, and next year Karl will be taking a year off before he begins medical school in the fall of 2012
Doug: Drew has discipled Doug for as long as I can remember. Doug's parents were my campus directors with the Navs at UNI, and also our boss's while Drew and I were on staff at UNI (his parents are now the national collegiate directors, so that is how he is on campus with us at CU). We have known Doug since he was 10 years old, and we are excited that this coming fall he will be joining our staff team at CU Boulder.
Dane: Dane has been an amazing influencer during his time at CU. When he first came as a freshman he singlehandedly recruited half the ministry that year by inviting all his friends:). We will miss Dane and are trusting God to use him as he pursue a career in the mental health field.
Kelly: Kelly has been a warm smile in our ministry! She will be heading to Wisconsin to attend nursing school in hopes of becoming a midwife.
Aimee: Aimee has influenced more international students on campus than any student we have ever been invovled with! In the morning she would pray to impact someone for Christ, and by the afternoon an international student in her class would ask her to tell them about the God she believed in. She is undecided as to what she will do next, but Drew and I are pretty certain it has something to do with impacting the whole world for Christ!
Lauren B.: Stacy has discipled Lauren for the past 4 years, was with her the day she met her fiance, and even helped her fiance pick out her ring! They have certainly lived life together over the past four years. Lauren will be getting married to Brian this summer (Drew is officiating the wedding as he has discipled Brian for the past 6 years, and Stacy will be a bridesmaid), then she will begin student teaching in the fall. They will live very close to us so we look forward to continuing our friendship (hopefully for a lifetime)!
Lauren J.: Lauren has been a strong a faithful woman of God in our ministry, and she has always been so loving towards Dax. Lauren is undecided as to what is next, but hopes to pursue a career in editing with a publishing company.
Thank you for praying for these men and women over the past four years. We are sad to see them go, but trusting God has built them up to "go and make disicples of all nations".
